The Institute for the Development of Practical Psychology is a professional association of mental health specialists whose activities are aligned with national and international regulatory frameworks.

The World Health Organization (WHO) defines mental health as “a state of well-being in which an individual realizes their own potential, can cope with normal life stresses, work productively, and contribute to their community.” Guided by this understanding, the Institute promotes an integrated, evidence-based approach to psychological well-being.

In Ukraine, the Concept for the Development of Mental Health Care through 2030, approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine (June 21, 2024, No. 572-r), establishes strategic priorities for improving quality of life for individuals experiencing mental health challenges and for integrating psychological health and safety management systems into organizational governance practices.

In alignment with these standards, the Institute actively contributes to fostering a modern culture of mental health awareness in Ukraine, emphasizing the importance of professional psychological support and evidence-based self-care practices.

The Institute for the Development of Practical Psychology (IDPP) advances professional development in the field of mental health through a wide range of educational initiatives, including training programs, seminars, and masterclasses. These activities are conducted in accordance with the Law of Ukraine “On Education,” particularly in relation to non-formal and informal education

Article 8 of the Law defines:

  • Non-formal education as structured learning typically delivered through educational programs that does not lead to state-recognized academic degrees, but may result in professional certification and/or partial educational qualifications.
  • Informal education (self-education) as self-organized acquisition of competencies through professional practice, civic engagement, family life, or leisure activities.

The Institute’s professional development activities fully comply with the current legislative framework of Ukraine and contribute to strengthening the national system of lifelong learning in mental health.
