Role within the Institute

As an Honorary Member and Head of the Department of Clinical Kinesiology and Neurorehabilitation, Dzhamila Kovalenko leads the development of body-oriented rehabilitation within the Institute’s structure.

Her work is aimed at integrating physical therapy, applied kinesiology, and psycho-emotional regulation into a unified interdisciplinary recovery model.

Within the Department, she initiates the implementation of modern clinical protocols, develops author-based methodological approaches, participates in scientific and applied projects, and provides expert supervision of rehabilitation programs.

Her professional position within the Institute combines evidence-based practice, systemic thinking, and a deep understanding of the interaction between physical and psycho-emotional processes in human rehabilitation.

Systemic Approach.Her clinical practice is grounded in a holistic perspective, where the body is considered a unified system in which all structures are interconnected and mutually influential

Her professional work integrates multiple components of body-centered rehabilitation

  • Myofascial body and facial therapy;
  • Lymphatic drainage techniques;
  • Trigger point therapy;
  • Applied kinesiology methods;
  • Individually tailored rehabilitation protocols.

A key element of her professional practice is multidisciplinary collaboration — working alongside physical therapists, psychotherapists, and psychologists. This comprehensive approach ensures effective support of the rehabilitation process by addressing both physical and psycho-emotional aspects of a person’s condition.

  • Theoretical and practical aspects of physical rehabilitation for individuals with musculoskeletal disorders.
  • Development and implementation of individualized physical therapy programs based on evidence-based medicine principles.
  • Neurorehabilitation of patients after stroke, traumatic brain injury, and other neurological conditions.
  • Restoration of functional independence and quality of life across different age groups.
  • Occupational therapy within comprehensive rehabilitation and social reintegration systems.
  • Biomechanical analysis of movement and correction of motor dysfunction.
  • Applied kinesiology as a tool for assessing muscular imbalance and functional disorders.
  • Correction of postural dysfunction and prevention of chronic pain syndromes.
  • Implementation of modern rehabilitation technologies and interdisciplinary approaches in restorative treatment.
